Translating a of Ordinary Fractions into a Binary Number System

Annotation

For the first time in the Russian-language literature, the article describes a technique for translating a number of regular ordinary fractions into a binary number system without intermediate conversion to decimal. We consider the translation of two main groups of frac­tions — the denominator of which is equal to 2я - 1 and 2я + 1. In the second case, the trans­lation uses an original technique — the use of a conventional negative unit with the subse­quent exclusion of such digits. Experience has shown that the proposed translation method for fractions of this type is more effective than the traditional method.
