Annotation
The article reveals the potential of the educational subject “Informatics” in the implementation of the teacher’s tasks in developing the logical thinking of junior
schoolchildren. Particular attention in the work is paid to students in the 4th grade of a comprehensive school. The article reflects the terminological essence of the concept of “logical thinking”, indicates the importance of forming and improving this group of skills in primary school students, and identifies subject-specific tools (discipline content and educational technologies) that help improve the quality of development of logical thinking in schoolchildren. Based on his own pedagogical experience, the author of the work illustrates examples of the use of modern technologies in computer science lessons, which, on the one hand, diversify the educational process, and on the other, allow the teacher to positively influence the level of development of students’ cognitive abilities. As a result, the work identifies the main tools for the development of logical thinking of students in the 4th grade of a comprehensive school using the discipline “Informatics”.
