Annotation

The article deals with the concept of the internet of things, describes the opportunity of using this technology in all areas of human activity and gives an idea of the modern challenges for Russian education. It also analyses the goals of the national project «Education» and the features of the federal project «Personnel for the Digital Economy». The author examines significance of the application of problem-based learning methods in education, methods of teaching algorithmization and programming through the study of the internet of things technology on a specific example.
